British satellite broadcaster

For many years a major British satellite broadcaster had used a number of automation solutions. Each one either met company limits or supplier support was simply withdrawn.

In 2000 this British satellite broadcaster had started to look for an “independent” solution to this reoccurring problem.

Colem Communications Ltd (CCL) had, by this time, developed a satellite & broadcast equipment automation product using industry standard process control system platform, iFIX by GE Fanuc (ne Intellution).

This was expanded over a few years to include the new British satellite broadcaster's Transmission backup site, increasing to a total of 9 automation servers.

During this period, CCL became a technology supplier to this broadcaster, providing a team of in-house engineers to support and grow the broadcaster's system.

Today, Colem continues this role and has now assisted the British satellite broadcaster in its efforts to centralise and concentrate their complete broadcast system, including their HQ, in to a concise and effective company-wide automation system.

This has meant that based on CCLs product and its fundamental standardisation, the British satellite broadcaster have now operated for the longest time on a single , future proofed, system platform.

The system is still expanding and CCLs technology with iFIX continues to provide the British satellite broadcaster with a total solution, from the days of Analogue to Digital SD and now HD.
